Automakers released their monthly sales data for the month of March. The overall market continued to grow, although the rate of expansion slowed down to 3.4%, mostly due to flat car sales. On the other hand, sales of light duty vehicles (consisting of pickups/SUVs/minivans) jumped 9%. The total market is now approaching the pre-recession levels and after a couple of years of double-digit growth, it is expected to consolidate.
